Landscapes In Composition / Hard Off Hearing: Monochromatic landscape (2007)

  • Title: Hard Off Hearing: Monochromatic landscape
  • Album: Landscapes In Composition
  • Year: 2007

Lyrics:

Zuul Fx: Fight For The Cause

ZUUL FX BIOGRAPHY
Genre: Metal / Hardcore / Rock

Since the release of their first album "By the Cross " in 2005 ZUUL FX made a striking entrance into the metal world not only in France but also in Europe, where they were enthusiastically received. Their live performances reinforced the massive support of the French media: magazines such as Hard Rock Mag and Rock One established the band as the new leader of the scene, while Europe2 TV, M6 Music Rock, MCM and MTV Pulse played all their videos. ZUUL FX was rewarded by being featured on the cover of the magazine Hard N Heavy (November 2006), dedicated to the most important French metal bands. But ZUUL FX have not only been noticed in France: Bruce Dickinson played the album on BBC Radio 1. Key magazines such as Kerrang (UK), Metal Hammer (UK), Rock Hard Germany, Legacy (All), Metal Shock (IT) all praised the quality of their first album.

Parkway Drive

Parkway Drive
Genre: Hardcore / Metal

Blasting out of Byron Bay, almost as an affront to the serenity of their surrounds, PARKWAY DRIVE quickly established themselves as the most formidable force Australian heavy hardcore had ever seen. A five- piece of astonishing power and understated charisma, PARKWAY DRIVE created unseen hysteria with their brutal 2005 full-length debut, “Killing With A Smile”. The album spent time in the ARIA National Top 40, affirming the astounding popularity of a band who had grown their fanbase from genuine hardcore roots.

Relentless touring has been one of the keys to PARKWAY DRIVE's success. Sold-out national headlining runs, Big Day Out and Homebake appearances and the 2006 Taste Of Chaos Tour has been their reality. Recently, too, PARKWAY have begun to leave their indelible mark on the world stage. Having signed an enviable overseas deal with indie giant Epitaph, they have spent a large part of the past year abroad, crisscrossing North America, Europe and Japan, a 31-date stint on the 2007 Vans Warped Tour being just one of the many highlights. The world, it seems, is catching onto what we in Australia have known for a while.

On October 6, 2007, Parkway Drive unleashed their standout sophomore effort, “Horizons”. Recorded once again by producer and Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz (As I Lay Dying, Underoath, Unearth, Killswitch Engage) at Zing Studios in Boston, MA, Horizons debuted at 6 on the ARIA chart, 1 on the Australian Artist chart and 1 on the Independent chart. Horizons takes the PARKWAY DRIVE sound to totally new extremes. A bone-crunching avalanche of classic hardcore, Swedish death and math-metal, it's destined to be one of the biggest circle-pit-inducing albums of '07.

The quiet confidence and lack of arrogance expressed by the band is what lies at the heart of PARKWAY DRIVE's massive appeal. They have this ability to destroy an audience, to decimate a venue with complete and utter malice, yet at the same time show everyone in the place the time of their lives. This is the kind of relaxed, no- nonsense attitude you get growing up in Byron. PARKWAY are just five ordinary dudes who came together to create one extraordinary band.

"Parkway Drive are back and upping the metal ante with Horizons, which to tell you the truth, simply slays from the get go and refuses to let up, not even momentarily" - 10/10 Blunt Magazine

"Parkway Drive don't sacrifice heaviness in order to appeal to a wider audience - they simply make heaviness more appealing" - Rolling Stone Magazine

"Every so often a metal album comes out that in decades to come will be held up as a classic from that era. There was Master Of Puppets by Metallica, Vulgar Display Of Power by Pantera, Reign In Blood by Slayer, Burn My Eyes by Machine Head and now, in 2007, add Horizions by Parkway Drive to that list as this is an album that will not only set the benchmark for metal albums to come, it will also turn Parkway Drive, quite rightfully, into one of the biggest metal bands on the planet." - www.planet-loud.com

"Of course purists can't handle the thought of surfer kids being able to tear strips off off your skin with their Gothenburg influenced attack but too bad, they are on top of their game and have the artillery to prove it. " - Drum Media Perth

"Horizons will go down as one of the best hardcore albums ever made by an Australian act" - Brag Sydney

"Faster, heavier and more honest than ever before, Horizons firmly cements Parkway Drive in the upper echelons of worldwide metalcore royalty" - Rave Brisbane

“Excellent [....] Four years, two albums and no sign that this band are going anyway but up” RockSound

“If you're looking for exquisitely executed, technically awesome, frantic noodlage paired with chuggy guitars, sprinting drums and demon hellspawn vocals, this is one for you ” Kerrang!
